Hello. I am Marc Obsidian.

I've finally capitulated about establishing a guild point system per the myriad requests from our members. Here's a brief summary of how it works.

Guild Shares will be given to people who participate in farming raids or to those that power level others.

A. 1 Base point will be given for each farm raid, OI run, or one hour plvl session

*Note: One hour of plvling receives one point no matter how many people are in the party.

B. A level/rank modifier will be administered to the base point to give appropriate weight to higher level characters

*Example: SuperNova (level 60 and rank 5) would get one base point multiplied by 60/5 or 12 guild shares for each raid or hour of plvl.

*Example 2: Mr. Banks (level 1 rank 8) would be given 1/8 of a point per each raid or plvl. To gain one point Banks would have to go on 8 raids/plvls.

*Example 3: Formula3 (level 60 rank 2) would be given one base point multiplied by 60/2 or 30 guild shares for each raid or hour of plvl

*Example 4: Mr.Hotty (level 47 rank 8) would be given 47/8 or 6 shares for each raid or hour of plvl.

At first glance the distribution for rank 2/3s would seem abnormally high. However we need to consider that Formula and the other rank 2s must spend hours each week organizing events and tracking shares for over 300 people. This system will ensure they get credit for the time spent there as well. The number of rank 3s will be reduced to 12. Rank 4s are alts for the rank 1-3s for the most part with a few rank 4s being ex-officers and the like. Guild members have rank 5-8 currently. Each person will be paid according to their highest ranked character. So if SuperNova works with his level 40 character he'll still be paid at the 60/5 or 12 shares per point.

C. Items gained in guild farm parties will be added to the list of guild assets to the right of guild share points on the spreadsheet. As the number of items increases the total guild worth increases and the Value of guild shares will also increase. Since we just launched the point system then the value of guild shares is not currently correct on the spreadsheet. Later this week I'll update the guild assets and the Share Value will be correct by the first weekend in June.

To understand how this works you need a basic understanding of accounting, but I'll try to simplify what we're doing in an example.

Example 1: Guild Farming produces Legend Adamas armor from Troll Farm. The value of the Armor is about 3b gold. Currently the Share Value on the sheet is 16m each share making the cost of the Armor for a guldy approximately: 182 shares. (3b divided by 16m)

The spreadsheet will automatically update the 'Share Value' each time a guild point is added. It will also update the 'Share Cost' of each item in stock. In other words, the higher the guild value the more the shares are worth. Farming with no drop of value will make the worth of shares go down. So....as we farm more effectively your shares and the guild value increase. Prices are not 'set' like in the point systems at TGB/ET. Essentially they set prices far above the value of their raid points. We're attempting to make a fair system where the total guild worth is represented by the shares that you hold. Those that participate and work for the guild will be rewarded over time by being able to acquire the farm drops and the items which are converted to gold will be used to purchase elemental gear and goddess gear.

D. A waiting list will be established and attached to the main sheet. This will allow members to request certain items prior to them being obtained. The guild leadership will seek to fill this list as quickly as possible.

Please submit any questions/concerns in this thread. I'll try to respond over the next few days.

Marc

How frequently is the sheet updated? I notice my name wasn't on there, despite participating in 4 or 5 OI runs this past week.
